VIAVI’s MTS-4000 Optical Test Platform is a powerful, modular solution designed to meet these evolving field-testing requirements. With a 9-inch high-resolution touchscreen, dual-module architecture, robust & lightweight design and up to 16 hours of battery operation, the MTS-4000 is built for demanding field environments. Its modular architecture allows engineers to configure the platform according to their application, with options including OTDR, In-Service Filter OTDR, DWDM OTDR, Fiber Complete Pro, Multi-Fiber Switch, Optical Spectrum Analyzer etc.

MTS-4000 supports a wide range of OTDR testing:

1. 850/1300 nm – Multimode fiber
2. 1310/1550 nm – Single-mode fiber
3. 1625/1650 nm – In-service fiber troubleshooting

Depending on the selected module i.e. A, B and C, dynamic range can extend from 35 dB up to 45 dB, making the platform suitable for long-haul links, complex networks and high-count splitter applications.

1625 nm and 1650 nm in-service testing capability enables engineers to troubleshoot live fiber networks while minimizing disruption to active services, subject to the appropriate network configuration.

Beyond OTDR testing, features such as Smart Link Mapper, SmartAccess Anywhere, StrataSync Cloud and FAST Report enhance field productivity and test-management capabilities.
